Seaton Delaval Hall Wedding featuring Laura & Scott who got married in The Church of Our Lady in Seaton Delaval. They then went on to Seaton Delaval Hall for some photographs. The wedding breakfast was at Otterburn Hall in Northumberland, with the evening reception in a marquee in the grounds.
I’ll let Laura tell you about her Seaton Delaval Hall Wedding…
We got married in the Church of our Lady as all of my family have been married there for generations and generations. Finding the reception venue was a little harder, until we went to Otterburn hall and it felt it was your home for the day rather than a hotel. With the old smells and original furniture pieces, it felt like we were part of a Jane Austen novel.
For my dress I wanted something with sleeves and lace originally to tie in with the theme but when I tried on the Sophia Tolli madeline dress from the wedding studio in Blyth, it was perfect, and was a modern twist on what I had originally wanted with vintage style beading.
All of our flowers were from a English country garden – whites, pinks and purples filled the vintage teapots we had lovingly collected over the year, accompanied by vintage teacups as our table plan.
We had an ice cream reception after the church !
We had photos in Seaton Delaval Hall. As a little girl I had always dreamed of having a Seaton Delaval Hall wedding, as my mother had been the gala queen many years ago and showed me photos of her standing on the steps in a white dress. It was the perfect setting for wedding photos of the two of us – Avant Garde Photography captured some amazing artistic images for us.
Our photographs are amazing, they capture the whole essence of our day. They are a wonderful timeline of the days events, we love the natural shots, they are a snapshot into the sentiment and enjoyment everyone experienced.
It’s incredible to see the end results and not even realise that some photos were even being taken at the time, it was very relaxed. We also asked for some more traditional staged shots and really appreciate how he managed to create perfect images, especially the ones of everyone at the wedding with all their eyes open and smiles on their faces! Not being lovers of having our photographs taken Avant Garde Photography made us and all our guests feel very comfortable on the day and the result is a beautiful and stunning album full of unforgettable memories to treasure as we grow old together.
